Around this time of year we get a lot of people asking for suggestions for comics, games, and anything our humble little store holds. While it’s always a treat to help people in the store, we wanted to find other ways to help people find that special something. Today, we dive head first into the wild and wacky world that is Earth’s greatest Role Playing Game.
Without a doubt, the first of two items that are needed to play the game is the Players Handbook. Here you find all the basic information for making your character and for playing the game. To supplement this, there are slew of other books that work in conjunction to the Player’s handbook and luckily there is two bundles of books to help one start playing. The first bundle, D&D Core Rulebook Gift Set Bundle, has The Player’s handbook, the Dungeon Masters Guide (a book of helpful tools and tips for your Dungeon Master), and the Monster Manual (a manual of monster stats). The second bundle is the D&D Rules Expansion Gift Set Bundle which includes Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything, Xanathar’s guide to everything, and Monsters of the Multiverse. This bundle adds more class features, optional rules to spice up your game, a whole cadre of playable races, so many magical items to play with and a whole zoo of creatures for your games. Each of these comes in a neat slip case and they come with a nifty DM screen as well! Of course, you can pick these books up individually as well!
The second most important thing needed to play D&D is of course dice!! These math rocks come in all sorts of colors and sizes, and we have SO MANY! We have sets which consist of each type needed to play, loose dice so you can pick your perfect theme, and even ones made of stone and metal! In conjunction with that, we also have a variety of rolling trays and even some collapsible dice towers to boot!!!
While not necessary for play, miniatures make the game more immersive. There’s no specific miniature brand needed, just whatever suits your needs and game! Reaper miniatures have a large variety, with unique variations on classic archetypes and monsters. Wizards of the coast has their own brand of miniatures, either prepainted in randomized blind boxes specific to scenarios or themes, or in unpainted blister packs. If you choose the unpainted miniatures, we have all the paint supplies you could want. In addition to miniatures, you can bring your game further into the realm of immersion with a grid map, dungeon tiles, and even modeling materials to make that terrain pop even more.
These token sets are designed to allow you to easily and quickly track your character’s status effects. If your character is frightened, paralyzed, or unconscious, your allies will be able to see at a glance that you are in need of help. Because all of these full-color tokens are made of durable perspex, they are wet-erasable, so you can write additional information straight onto them. The combat tile provides a place for you to keep a running total of constantly changing statistics like character health and resources, all without dirtying your character sheet with eraser marks. Each token set includes a class tin, a combat tile, and 20 regular tokens with 1 large inspired token. Some classes have additional tokens dedicated for that class, which are shown below.
Of course we are always full with recommendations and always to happy to help you find anything that can step up your D&D game! Preconstructed adventures, campaign settings, even 3rd party source materials, we have a wide variety of D&D related items!
